#Overlord ii review upgrade
The choice system from the original is also at the core of the story with players able to play their Overlord as either one of destruction or domination which changes the way the story and your abilities are used. Your dark tower also returns and has plenty of new areas that give you more control over your Overlord’s equipment, minions and mistresses. Your four different colour minions (brown, red, green and blue) also return with basically the same powers as the previous games. Gnarl is once again your advisor and is more than happy to show you the ropes in using your Overlord powers. This Roman like empire is led by Emperor Solarius who wishes to remove all the magic from the world and thus rule over everything. In the game players attempt to overthrow the ‘Glorious Empire’ which reflects a Roman era.
The game maintains the same level of humour as the original game with plenty of satire and dark tones present through your adventure. In the sequel you will again step into the shoes of an unknown and mysterious Overlord (the son of the original Overlord) as you attempt to grow your influence by overtaking the Roman styled Empire. Fans of the first Overlord game will welcome the highly anticipated sequel and there is still plenty of fun to be had for new comers to the Overlord series. Holding circle will call all minions back no matter what they are doing.Overlord II continues the humorous and unique experience of the original game and is again available on the major platforms (Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360). Once sent your minions will attack enemies destroy crates and vases, lift statues and generally just cause havoc. R2 is used to send your minions in whichever direction you are facing. Once you select R1 you can let go to select all minions or press one of the face buttons to choose a class. There are four different classes with each class having its own special ability, but more on that in a bit. Your other controls are all aimed towards controlling your minions. This is a good tactic to take out enemies quickly. When you want to move them to an area first hold up on the right stick, and once they start moving you can take them anywhere. The right stick will also move your minions as well. As in most games, the left stick moves you and the right stick moves the camera. The controls for Overlord work wonderfully. He finally finds his way to the Netherworld castle, the place where he will raise his empire. They accompany him in chasing after the boys that made fun of him, and ultimately wreak havoc throughout the town. The camera doesn’t always works as it should, but that is also something you can get used to. The gameplay brings a lot of different puzzles and we just love the music score.
When the minions discover him they put him to the test to see if he will be the true overlord. And while its still a laugh to play the bad guy, the ditching of gentle exploration elements that made the first game a blast makes Overlord II a disappointing. The humor is sometimes a little bit over the top, but the minions are very finny.
